This set of three hardcover children's books, beautifully illustrated by Jade Zivanovic, is perfect for kids ages 4-8.

Penny Pangolin and the Missing Ant Cake:
Penny’s favorite lemon-ant cake dessert is in trouble!  Her neighbor, Edith Aardvark, steals the cake and puts herself in danger, forcing Penny to choose between what she feels is deserved and what is right. Leaning on themes of forgiveness, grace, and the consequences of actions, friends will ultimately come together in a happy twist ending.

Penny Pangolin Wants a Pet:
Penny convinces her parents that she’s responsible enough for more than just a pet plant.  Out of an act of compassion blossoms an unexpected, unbreakable companionship with an orphaned red panda.

Penny Pangolin and the Rock Soup:
The village festival is on!  Penny is in for an unsettling surprise when she unexpectedly eats something that makes pangolins sick.  Her friend comes to the rescue with a remedy only a pangolin could appreciate—homemade rock soup!

The Heroes of Time series is full of action and adventure, and is recommended for ages 12 and up. While it's categorized as "Young Adult," we recognize that this label can be a bit nebulous, so it bears further clarification. If the Heroes of Time books were made into films, they would likely be rated PG to PG-13.

Expect comic-style, "Marvel"-level action with no explicit sexual content. Any scenes that might suggest mature themes are handled with discretion, quickly fading to black without lingering on them.

1. Heroes of Time Legends: The Healer
2. Heroes of Time Legends: Murdoch's Choice
3. Heroes of Time Legends: Murdoch's Shadow

What Heroes of Time Readers Are Saying

★★★★★

“A character did the right thing, and it's costing him. The right thing isn't the easy thing. Isn't the safe thing. It isn't the profitable thing. That's a great thing to show in a story and I'm glad that Kramer went there.”

J.M.D. Reid

"This is a book I feel will stick with readers long after they read it. I already think of Fulgar now every time I see a white butterfly in my garden."

FAQs

Generally, the preferred order is:

  1. Heroes of Time Legends: The Healer
  2. Heroes of Time Legends: Murdoch's Choice
  3. Heroes of Time Legends: Murdoch's Shadow

That's the order they take place in, and the order we recommend.

That said, The Healer is a prequel to Murdoch's Choice, and Murdoch's Choice was released first. So, you could read Murdoch's Choice and Murdoch's Shadow first and come back to The Healer later.

Heroes of Time is structured similarly to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Just as the MCU began with stories about a single hero and built up to epic sagas tying many of them together, Heroes of Time begins similarly. These smaller-scale stories are our Legends brand.

The Legends series will ultimately tie into the main series. To keep the MCU analogy going, the first entry of the main series would be our equivalent to The Avengers, and is known as Heroes of Time: The First Ethereal.
